The bed at our hotel Kokotel was incredibly soft and comfortable. It's was hard to leave it but we wanted to hit the beaches before everyone else. We left our warm duvet, took a shower and head for the Ao Nang Beach. The only way in and out of Railay was by longboat.
So we boarded the embarcation and navigated to the famous beach also known as Rai Leh. The pristine beach surrounded by those signature limestone cliffs and lush jungles was as quiet as we expecting. Most tourists aren't morning persons. The whole area had a very romantic and laid back ambience which we guessed would be different in high season. We rented a kayak to explore a couple of other beaches including the famous one like Phra Nang Beach (Princess Cave) to very secluded with no name.
Phra Nang Beach hides a peculiarity. On the southern side of the beach, we found a strange little cave full of penis! These phalluses carvings have been placed by fishermen, other locals, and visitors as offerings to the princess of the cave who will hence grant them fertility and prosperity.
