We were taking a fast boat to Gili Air from Padang Bai after being transferred from Ubud by a shuttle bus. We first stopped at Gili Trawangan, the party island where we waited 30 min for unloading and loading new passengers. Most people disembarked leaving the fast boat almost empty.
We arrived at Gili Air a few minutes later. The island was peaceful. The low season and the recent eruption of Bali's Mount Agung volcano kept more visitors away. When it was bad for business, we rejoiced the serenity of the white sand beaches. After snorkelling and enjoying the pool, we dressed up and ate at a local Indonesian restaurant called Warung Sunny. The Beef Rendang Burrito was to die for. No better way to end the day than having a full belly.
