We were already leaving Bali, the Island of the Gods. Our shuttle bus for Denpasar airport (Ngurah Rai International Airport) picked up early in the morning. Our flight to Labuan Bajo was in the afternoon. Meaning, we had time to spent at the airport but not much to do. Having French pastries and a few drinks was enough to keep us busy.
As we landed, the guesthouse’s driver was late. A dozen of taxi drivers rushed toward us. They were pushing to drive us. It was painful to keep saying "No don’t need a taxi. Our ride is coming."
After checking in at our simple guesthouse, World Bnb, we organised the trip around with three Spanish guys our expedition to the Komodo islands. Having a larger group would reduce the cost of the trip. We ended up paying IDR 1,200,000 each excluding the Komoro Park fees and guide/Ranger additional cost. The price was reasonable for a non-luxury boat. We would have to sleep on the desk watching the star. How bad could it be?
We set off for the port where most the life was happening like the night market, restaurants and bars.
