Back to Guilin
We shared a private car with a lovely German couple. Alexandra and Gregor were finishing their first trip to China. The driver who appends to be the hotel owner where we spend the night drove us smoothly to the Guilin North Station. We picked up our tickets for our last city in China - Hong Kong.
Guilin Zizhou Panorama Resort
We spent the rest of the day in a five-star hotel, the Guilin Zizhou Panorama Resort. The hotel was in the scenic and tranquil Zizhou Park. As guests, we could enjoy the park for free. So we did. We also abused the warm tub!

After our challenging trek through the Longji Rice Terraces, this was the perfect way to rest and recover. The resort's location within the park provided a peaceful escape from the city's bustle, with beautiful walking paths and serene lake views.
Evening Stroll
After dinner, we went strolling again near the lakes and rivers and enjoyed the overrated Lijiang Waterfall Hotel Guilin and its world-record waterfall tumbling down over the building's north face.

While the waterfall hotel is certainly impressive at night, it felt more like a tourist spectacle than an authentic experience. Still, it was worth seeing once, and the evening walk along the illuminated riverfront was lovely.
