About This Experience
Victoria Peak is the highest point on Hong Kong Island at 552 metres and the most visited attraction in the city. The summit offers unparalleled views of the Hong Kong skyline, Victoria Harbour, and the Kowloon peninsula stretching to the New Territories beyond.
What to Expect
The Peak Tram, a historic funicular railway operating since 1888, carries visitors up the steep mountainside in just eight minutes. At the top, the Sky Terrace 428 observation deck provides 360-degree views. The Peak Circle Walk, a flat 3.5-kilometre loop around the summit, offers quieter vantage points away from the crowds. At night, the view of the illuminated skyline is unforgettable.
Practical Tips
- Visit at sunset for the best experience — daylight views transitioning to the night skyline
- The Peak Tram queue can be very long — consider the bus or a taxi up and the tram down
- The Peak Circle Walk is an easy, flat path with excellent views and fewer crowds
- Visibility can be poor on hazy or rainy days — check the forecast before heading up
