Art Science Museum
About This Experience
The ArtScience Museum is one of Singapore's most striking buildings — its lotus-inspired design appears to float at the edge of Marina Bay. Opened in 2011 as part of the Marina Bay Sands complex, the museum hosts rotating exhibitions that explore the relationship between art, science, culture, and technology. Its permanent digital exhibition, created in collaboration with teamLab, is a highlight.
What to Expect
The museum's galleries feature a mix of permanent and travelling exhibitions. The teamLab installation transforms entire rooms into immersive digital art environments where projections respond to your movement. Past exhibitions have covered topics from ancient civilisations to space exploration and fashion technology. The building itself, with its dramatic curved walls and natural lighting from the open "petals" of the roof, is an experience in its own right.
Practical Tips
- Check the museum website for current exhibitions before visiting — they rotate regularly
- The teamLab permanent exhibition is separately ticketed
- Allow 2–3 hours depending on exhibitions
- Located at the base of Marina Bay Sands, next to the Bayfront MRT station
