Chichen Itza
About This Experience
Chichen Itza is one of the largest and most remarkable Maya archaeological sites in the Yucatan Peninsula. At its centre stands the Temple of Kukulcán (El Castillo) — a step pyramid that served as a temple to the feathered serpent god. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Chichen Itza draws visitors from across the globe to witness the architectural genius of the Maya civilisation.
What to Expect
Beyond the iconic pyramid, the site includes the Temple of the Warriors with its famous Thousand Columns, the Great Ball Court — the largest in Mesoamerica — and the Sacred Cenote where offerings were made. During the spring and autumn equinoxes, the setting sun casts a shadow on the pyramid that creates the illusion of a serpent descending the staircase. Even outside equinox season, the scale and precision of the structures are breathtaking.
